Target English, the specialist English language training company, has designed a new style of class for students wanting to increase their score in the IELTS test. The classes follow 3 main principles to guarantee success.

1. A modular course.
This means students can sign up to a class in the areas they want to improve and do not have to waste money on studying the sections of the test that they are already good at.

2. A strong focus on techniques and strategies.
Many students spend a lot of time in full time, traditional style classes where the focus is on language learning and continuous test practice. Target English knows that this is unnecessary and have designed their classes around giving students the techniques and strategies to understand how the test works and therefore how to improve their score quickly. After only a few hours in the classroom students will have learnt all the skills they need in order to practice on their own, thereby reducing the cost of an IELTS course considerably.

3. Individual attention.
Target English provides small class sizes (10 students maximum) and each class is taught by 2 teachers to ensure that every student receives as much individual attention as possible. The classes also include pre and post class online support and test practice to help students build on the test techniques and strategies they have learnt.

What makes the classes unique is that they combine face to face teaching with online, independent study. The classes can be used together with a full time English course in a language school or individually for people cannot study full time. One of the teachers, Fiona Aish, explained the new Target English approach as "the best way to improve your IELTS score in a short time. Our classes do not waste time with grammar exercises or pair and group work activities, instead they are highly intensive and students make clear improvements after only a few hours' tuition."
