Greedy and Needy
This is the sad and sure reality
Of being motivated monetarily
Focusing on money entirely
Disregarding the hearts of humanity
The poor, struggling, and needy
Trying to get yours speedily
Running full force over everybody
In route to your personal destiny
It's time to make a new discovery
Life is sweeter and more fulfilling
When you include others in your journey
Greedily getting and merely accumulating
Is never sufficient and always aggravating
As you seek to self-actualize and realize
Your full power, purpose, and potential
But never fully awake to being hopeful
Have hope for yourself and others
Never discount sisters and brothers
We're all children in God's loving family
Therefore why should you despise me
As you travel down the road of prosperity
Pushing, ploughing, and shoving through
Disgruntled and self-centered in all you do
Mesmerized entirely by what you do,
But deeply insecure about your who
Your identity's importance deep within you
Personhood should be prioritized
Others should not be demonized
For when you hate others
You prove to hate yourself
If you can't love you
How can you love anyone else?
Life is not all about you!
Moreover success requires people too
As you embrace others in what you do
Develop a dream team to help you
Strengthen and under gird you
Celebrate your victories with you
Solve problems happily with you
You see even when it's all about you
Amusingly it's truly and really never so
Because you need others to help you grow
This is a vital truth you must learn and know
Lest your life be merely a vain, pitiful show
Pathetic and pretentious without financial flow
Full of endless struggle because of selfishness
Living alone and for self alone is never bliss
I pray you realize and awake to this
The greedy are actually and usually
Most impoverished, destitute, and needy
As they rush through life accumulating stuff hurriedly
They never seem to enjoy it and others fully
This is the truthful irony of being pathetically greedy.
