Bikers are always looking for new ways to enjoy their lifestyle, and if you love bikes, then you've got to love mini-motos. Especially when you can customize them into super pocket bikes!

That's right, I'm talking about big pocket bikes, 110cc pocket bikes and greater - the kind of bikes your mom always warned you about!

These days, bikers are customizing everything and anything to do with their pocket bikes, so in this article I want to cover some of the crucial areas you need to look at when deciding to super-charge pocket bikes into super pocket-bikes.

Having your pocket bike tuned and groomed makes such a difference to performance and you know what that means: more fun for you! So you need to take that extra time to make sure that you've adjusted all the components to perfection.

Now it's important to remember, when you first get your pocket bike, you've got to take it easy - you wouldn't go to the gym and try to bench-press 300lbs the first day, you've got to build up to that.

Same thing with your new pocket bike. You're going to be putting a lot of stress on the bike, so you've got to take good care of it and slowly break it in, otherwise you're going to be spending more time servicing it than riding.

Now the critical components you'll be looking at are:

1) Engine:

You've got a two-stroke engine here, which means you're getting an incredible power to size ratio on your super pocket bike. When your bike is new you need to start slow, make sure you warm up the engine (10 minutes over idle) and also let it cool down.

Especially important is that you never accelerate flat-out. Change speed gradually.

2) Fuel Mixture:

When you're breaking in your bike, you want to run quite a rich fuel mixture, about a 25:1 ratio. You should use this for the first 3-4 tanks and then switch over to a leaner fuel mixture of 50:1 - you'll notice the difference straight away, there'll be a lot more power.

Remember, most starting problems are due to the fuel mixture being run way to rich, so always use a high quality gasoline, and a lean mixture after you've broken the bike in.

3) Brakes:

Easy, most brakes use a cable system, just make sure you inspect and adjust them constantly!

4) Clutch:

You're probably looking at centrifugal clutch assembly on your super pocket bike. There's quite a lot you can do here, but you need to be a bit more mechanically minded - if you don't mind opening the clutch up, you can upgrade the inner springs so they're more suited to your weight and performance preferences.

So there you have it, some of the main components you want look at to transform pocket bikes into super pocket bikes! Remember, there's a lot more information you can use to fine tune your pocket bike to super-charged, performance-enhanced, maximum-pleasure enjoyment!
