The average person spends more than 33% of their life asleep so choosing the right bedding is very important. There are many different types of bed linen so we've put this guide together to help you find the perfect bedding for you.

Quilt Cover & Sheet Sizes

• Standard fitted sheets will fit a mattress which is 25cm (10") deep
• Deep fitted sheets will fit a mattress which is 28cm (11") deep

Pillow Sizes

• Housewife pillowcase - measures 50x75cm (18x30")

• Oxford pillowcase - measures 50x75cm (18x30") but in addition to these dimensions they have a 5cm (2") fabric border around the outside which can be frilled or flat

• Square pillowcase - measures 65x65cm (26x26")

• Kingsize pillowcase - measures 50x90cm (20x35")

• Box pillowcase - this pillowcase has a gusset and it measures 48x74x10cm (19x29x4")

• V shaped pillowcase - 92x41cm (36x16")

• Embellished bed linen is embroidered or brocaded with appliquéd fabrics, the embellishments give the fabric a luxurious quality.

• Printed bed linen is constructed from pre-printed fabric; there are tyles and colours to suit both modern and traditional décor.

What is Thread Count and why is it important?

• The 'Thread Count' means the number of threads in a square inch of fabric.

• The higher the thread count, the finer and smoother the fabric will be.

• The higher the thread count, the better the quality of the fabric and the longer it will last.

What is Egyptian Cotton?
