Before dealing with the topic of "Woe" in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is compulsory to remember that the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise. "Woe" is mentioned 104 times in the Bible and 34 times in the Quran, i.e. the Bible mentions "Woe" more than three times as does the Quran. In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times (word-wise) and seven times (subject-wise) than the Quran to talk about "Woe". The subject of "Woe" is too big, that it why it is classified into four parts, First, Who said Woe unto me?, Second, Nations that Deserve Woe and this is the Third part that is The Hypocrites who deserve Woe

The Hypocrites who deserve Woe in the Bible:

According to the Bible, the obvious examples of the Hypocrites are the Pharisees and the lawyers who were the top religious Jews; Jesus described them as:
1) They shut up the kingdom of heaven against men, 2) They devour widows' houses, and make long prayer, 3) They swear by the gold of the temple, 4) They omit the law, judgment, mercy, and faith, 5) They make clean the outside but the interior is full of extortion, 6) They build the tombs of the prophets who were killed by their fathers!
7) They love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets, 8) They are as graves which appear not, etc.

They shut up the kingdom of heaven against men
Matthew 23:13
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

They devour widows' houses, and make long prayer
Matthew 23:14
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Matthew 23:15
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

They swear by the gold of the temple
Matthew 23:16
Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

They omit the law, judgment, mercy, and faith
Matthew 23:23
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

They make clean the outside but the interior is full of extortion.

Matthew 23:25
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

They build the tombs of the prophets who were killed by their fathers!
Matthew 23:27
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Matthew 23:29
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
Luke 11:47
Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

Luke 11:42
But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

They love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets
Luke 11:43
Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

They are as graves which appear not
Luke 11:44
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

They are spoiled, and think they are not spoiled.
Isaiah 33:1
Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

Luke 11:46
And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

Luke 11:47
Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

Luke 11:52
Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Matthew 26:24
The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
Mark 14:21
The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

Luke 17:1
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Luke 22:22
And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

The Hypocrites who deserve Woe in the Quran:

On the other hand, the Quran says that 1) The Hypocrites' hearts are hardened against the Remembrance of Allah., 2) they are the diminishers (defrauders), who, when people measure for them, take full measure, but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce!, 3) Each one of them is a scandal-monger and-backbiter, who is gathered wealth, thinking his wealth will render him immortal, 4) They deny the Day of judgment, repulse the orphan, do not encourage the feeding of the needy, neglect their prayers and want to be seen, 5) They do not prostrate and worship their Lord and belie the Quran!
Then the Quran is forewarning them and says: eat and enjoy yourselves in this life, it is little!, and the Quran asks them: Did we not destroy the ancients (the former generations)?, then the Quran depicts their ultimate fate at the Day of Judgment!

Their hearts are hardened against the Remembrance of Allah.

Surah: 39, Verse: 22-24
[22] Is he whose chest Allah has expanded to Islam, so that he walks upon a light from his Lord (as those whose heart is sealed)? But Woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the Remembrance of Allah! Those are in clear error.
[23]Allah has revealed the best announcement, a book conformable in its various parts, repeating, whereat do shudder the skins of those who fear their lord, then their skins and their hearts become pliant to the remembrance of Allah; this is Allah's guidance, he guides with it whom he pleases; and (as for) him whom Allah makes err, there is no guide for him
[24] Is he then who has to guard himself with his own person against the evil chastisement on the resurrection day? and it will be said to the unjust: taste what you earned

They are the diminishers (defrauders), who, when people measure for them, take full measure, but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce!

Surah: 83, Verse: 1-10
[1] Woe to the diminishers (defrauders),
[2] Who, when people measure for them, take full measure,
[3] But when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce!
[4] Do they not think that they will be resurrected
[5] For a great, an awful and a mighty day,
[6] The day when people will stand before the lord of the worlds?
[7] Nay! surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in sijjeen.
[8] What could let you know what the sijjeen is!
[9] It is a written book (record).
[10] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!

He is a scandal-monger and-backbiter, who is gathered wealth, thinking his wealth will render him immortal

Surah: 104, Verse: 1-6
[1] Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter,
[2] Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it (counts it)
[3] Thinking his wealth will render him immortal!
[4] By no means! he will be sure to be thrown into that which breaks to pieces,
[5] And what will explain to thee that which breaks to pieces?
[6] (It is) the fire of (the wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze),

Who denies the judgment? The one who repulses the orphan, does not encourage the feeding of the needy, neglects their prayers and wants to be seen

Surah: 107, Verse: 1-7
[1] Seest thou one who denies the judgment (to come)?
[2] Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness),
[3] And encourages not the feeding of the indigent (the needy).
[4] Woe to those who pray,
[5] Who are neglectful (unmindful, heedless) of their prayers,
[6] Those who want but to be seen (of men),
[7] But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs.

They do not prostrate and worship their Lord and belie the Quran!
Surah: 77, Verse: 48
[48] And when it is said to them, "prostrate yourselves!" (and worship your Lord ) they do not so.
[49] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!
[50] Then what message, after that (the Quran), will they believe in?

Warning to the Hypocrites:
The Quran warns and presages the Hypocrites. Their warning comes in different meanings and forms.
Such meanings and/or forms are not found in the Bible.

Eat and enjoy yourselves in this life, it is little!
For whatever they live, they will die, this life is limited and it is very stupid to sell the immortal Afterlife with this limited one!

Surah: 77, Verse: 45-47
[45] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!
[46] (o ye unjust!) eat ye and enjoy yourselves (but) a little while, for that ye are sinners.
[47] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!

Did we not destroy the ancients (the former generations)?
It is a question To Whom It May Concern!

Surah: 77, Verse: 16-19

[15] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!
[16] Did we not destroy the ancients (the former generations)?
[17] so shall we make later (generations) follow them.
[18] as such shall we deal with the sinners (the guilty).
[19] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!

Their ultimate fate at the Day of Judgment!

Surah: 77 , Verse: 34-37
[34] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!
[35] That will be a day when they shall not be able to speak.
[36] Nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize.
[37] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!
[38] Such is the day of decision (sorting out).. We will gather you with the ancients.
[39] if you are cunning, then try your cunning against me! if you have a plan, plan against me (now) , if now ye have any wit, outwit me, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against me!
[40] Woe on that day to those who belied it (reject the truth)!

Back to the main topic of my series of articles (1- 82); this is my question to you smart readers: "Is the Quran quoted from the Bible "?
