In order to succeed in Network Marketing, an individual must develop the mindset of a leader. Being a leader does not come from just saying you are not a follower anymore. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication as well as a change in attitude and your belief system. You must have strong beliefs about your company and its products, the possibilities for success in network marketing and your ability to make a difference in the lives of others.

The best way to begin developing the mindset of a leader is to start practicing three fundamental motivations in ways that benefit your business and lifestyle. They are enthusiasm, commitment and conviction. Without a solid grasp of these three beliefs, one can not expect to be successful in network marketing.

What fuels your enthusiasm? Think about why you started your business and what keeps you working every day toward your goals. Maybe it's the income potential, or the chance to help people. For me it is showing people how they can become as healthy as I am because I don't like to see people suffer. Whatever it is, you need to share that enthusiasm with others. in order to motivate them. Leaders understand that other people need them for inspiration.

Sometime during the journey of beginning a new home-based business, it begins to dawn on your distributor that a long, steady-paced marathon is a much better approach than a short sprint. Your ongoing enthusiasm provides a fuel supply for them to draw on to keep them going. Do not let people pace their work based on emotions and feelings. Soon enough, enthusiasm will diminish and they have nothing reserved to fall back on.

Commitment is something that successful networkers use to bring the force of will and the mind into making decisions. Be where you say you are going to be, and follow-up with your promises. Having commitment means having a sense of purpose and focus to walk your walk and talk your talk. The more committed you are to achieving your goals, the more successful you will become.

Knowing why you want to develop your businesses makes it easier to determine how you are going to get it. You can override emotions that tell you to quit when times get rough. You begin to become a person who doesn't make excuses about getting the job done. Obstacles will always be a part of life, but commitment allows you to overcome them without missing a beat. You know exactly what to do and nothing will stop you from doing it.

When commitment is tested in the race to build a large team and business, you will either begin to slow down or use conviction to keep you moving. When you tap into conviction, there is a major replenishing of both enthusiasm and commitment because it is unflinching belief. It is like pushing the overdrive button in a race car so it blasts past the opposition. You cannot afford to let obstacles win in network marketing, and conviction is your fool-proof back-up plan.

Conviction is an internal confidence solidly built from a leadership attitude and state of mind. Having the resolute knowledge that your business will work if you will work your business is the one common characteristic of every successful leader in network marketing. Even if people are not ready to be leaders, conviction will give them staying power until they develop their skill sets enough to become a leader.

Internal conviction is often developed by time spent with people who have it. Reps become like those with whom they associate. Constantly put yourself in a position to watch, listen, interact with and learn from people who are where you want to be. The more you do this, the more your team will do it and grow as a result. Your own enthusiasm and commitment should serve as a model of behavior, especially if you want to be in a leadership position.

Growing a businesses is neither a sprint nor a fun little jog, so enthusiasm, commitment and conviction keep you running along at the steady pace required for success. The better a person is able to grasp the concepts of using them as motivation, the better they will work together to help you achieve your goals.
