Many people who are affiliate marketers will tell you that the money is in the list. This is true whether you sell your own products or another marketers product. If you have a list than your number one priority is to build up trust. Once you have trust with your list than they will be more likely to believe you when you make recommendation about a product or service.

5 Ways to build trust with your list:

Give them relevant information that will help them to succeed in their niche. Giving your list valuable information will help you establish yourself as an expert in your field. Show your list that you are real person and not somebody in cyber-space who is only interested in their wallet. Tell stories about what is going on in your life; let them know your family situation, where you live, or anything that will personalize you. People buy from people who are like them. Do not constantly pitch products. People will begin to feel like you just see them a dollar sign and lose trust in you and once the trust is gone than it is all over. Pass along any free products that you get that they would have an interest in. When you train your list to open your email because they feel like they are getting something worthwhile, when you do actually promote a product they will be more like to open the email and read it. A benefit to this is that you can pass along a report that has product information and you can re-brand it with your affiliate link. This is a win-win, they will thank you for the free information and you may sell something in the process. Have a good follow up system in place. Try to space out the emails so that you are not filling up their in box. Imagine if somebody is away from their computer or on vacation for any length of time the last thing they want to come back to is a full in box with your emails taking up space. These emails will most likely get deleted without a second thought. Remember to be truthful with your list and make sure that you have used the product that you are recommending. If you feel there is a true value to the product and your list has trust in you than they will be more likely to purchase the product.
