Flowmaster Mufflers: Keeping Everything Smooth While On the Roads
If a radio gets too loud, you turn the volume down. If your car's engine gets too noisy, you can get a muffler. It's as simple as that.
Humans are naturally born to be noise-intolerant. Those who were born many years before had to endure the excruciating noise just to have the experience of having a car.
The word "muffle"means to wrap with something to deaden or prevent sound. Taking from this meaning alone, a muffler is designed to reduce the engine's emission and noise. It works as the exhaust system of the engine.
In the inside, a muffler is consist of several tubes with holes in them. It may seem to look like it's that simple but the process underneath is much more complicated. These tubes are designed to create reflected waves that interfere with each other or cancel each other out. The exhaust gases and the sound waves enter through the center tube. They bounce off the back wall of the muffler and are reflected through a hole into the main body of the muffler. They pass through a set of holes into another chamber, where they turn and go out the last pipe and leave the muffler.
Aside from this, there are also other ways in which the muffler car reduce the engine's noise. One is that the body of the muffler is consist of three layers, two of which are thin metal layers with a thicker slightly insulated layer between them. These layers allow the body of the muffler to absorb some of the pressure pulses. Another one is that the pipes going to the main chambers have holes that allows tiny pressure pulses to bounce around and cancel each other out in the main chamber.
Flowmaster, the world's leading maker of mufflers, was founded by Ray T. Flugger about 40 years ago. The goal of its founder was to produce the best technologically advanced performance exhaust products in the world. Today, people at Flowmaster are known for their achievements in product performance through continuous product evolution.
How is a Flowmaster Muffler different from other mufflers? Flowmaster offers its own patented Performance Technology that results in your engines improved power and improved fuel economy. Flowmaster mufflers achieve this by using pressure and sound energy released from an engine's combustion chamber to pull spent gases out of each cylinder resulting also to a more efficient charge of unburned fuel and air to fill the cylinder in the next cycle.
Flowmaster Mufflers also produce a unique sound, which is distinct from other mufflers. This is because of Flowmaster's Noise Cancellaton System where exhaust sound energy is split and directed through slightly two different parts and later on become out of phase, therefore creating noise cancellation. And from there results the famous Flowmaster sound.
If you are getting a Flowmaster muffler, certain advantages are guaranteed for you. With its noise cancellation system, you are sure that your "packing material" will deteriorate or get louder in just a few months. Flowmaster's unique "H-Chamber" design helps control internal resonance inside the cab area of your vehicle while "straight-through" cannot. Flowmaster only uses fully welded construction to give your muffler added durability and strength even when it's installed on high horsepower engines.
So what conclusion can we get from this? Flowmaster is muffler, muffler is Flowmaster. It's as simple as that.
