2007 If You Invented Easily Distributed, Cheap, Renewable Clean Energy; Would Government Allow it?

The question has been proposed at an online think tank; "If someone were to come up with an easily distributed, cheap, renewable clean energy, would the government allow it if it potentially reduced their bottom line?"

A very good question indeed and one worth asking, as our nation must also be careful not to collapse our industrial base; energy of course is a big part of it. If we are to bring in the new and crush the old, will our civilization actually be the better for it; Economically speaking that is? So the answer in the think tank was varied and here is one of the responses;

Most likely not. And there are all sorts of things like this already. But the funniest thing of all is those who call themselves "Liberals" generally will set forth some lawsuit to prevent the new technology in energy from coming to the forefront.

Look at the Wind Generator ideas off the Cape there in MA. You see both sides are fighting so much politically that the new innovations cannot come into play. There are those who in the Energy Sector who are somewhat happy to see this as it provides them with little or no competition while both forces duke it out in the media, political arena in the sound and fury of mankind. I laugh at this scenario often and mostly humans in general. Silly humans, they don't get it.

And many people claim that they have the answer to cheap energy but in the end to make it work costs billions of dollars in new facilities and equipment and that will have to paid back somehow you know? Even the alternative energy initiatives that Public Utility Companies have to make as a percentage of out put costs a pretty penny raising the costs of energy. Thus those very people that socialist groups are worried about freezing to death when the gas company turns of the heat can blame the environmentalists for raising the costs.

For instance not drilling for natural gas off the MA coast to protect the ears (sonar navigation) of the dolphins and whales during the drilling process, means that the supply ends up under the demand and the price goes up. That is the fault of the environmentalists, who are actually causing the problem that they are trying to prevent you see? But alas they are being used to promote the chaos and controversy really.

I seriously sit back and laugh at the whole thing. It is the regulators, lawyers and bureaucracy that un-levels free markets and raises costs. If I can do it, you can too. I certainly appreciate you reading all my articles on this subject of Alternative Energy. Thanks again and Godspeed. Perhaps this article is of interest to propel thought in 2007?
