The HTC HD2 is something of a monster. This smartphone comes packed with the latest technology and has enough gadgetry on board to rival some computers. The huge 4.3" capacitive touch screen offers a HD entrance to the wealth of on-board features. So let's have a closer look at some of the key features.

4.3" Capacitive HD Touch Screen

Some of you might be wondering exactly what a 'capacitive' touch screen actually is. Well, it essentially means that it will only react when touched by conductive materials, including human skin of course. This means that it won't keep going off in your pocket and you can clean the screen without moving everything around.

At 4.3" the touch screen is pretty impressive. With 65k colours it generates crystal clear images perfect for rendering images, websites and other applications within the phone.

Microsoft Windows 6.5 Operating System

Whilst Microsoft handset numbers have been on the decline due to fierce competition from Google and Apple, this is certainly a return to form. It also benefits from having the Pocket Office software, a condensed version of Microsoft's PC package. The CPU is from Snapdragon.

Connectivity

All the usual connection options are available on the HTC HD2. This includes high speed 3G and Wi-Fi for good measure. So whatever you're doing and wherever it may be, you should be able to get decent Internet access.

Social Media Integration

You can keep up to date with your friends right from your mobile thanks to Twitter and Facebook integration. On top of that you can catch the latest viral online films through YouTube too.

Battery Life

Better than many other smartphones, the 5 hours and 40 minutes 3G talk time that you can achieve ought to be enough for most. For something as feature rich, as most smartphones are, this is certainly no bad thing.

Media

Comes with a decent 5 MP camera with LED flash and camcorder functionality. You've then got your media players to help enjoy the videos you've produced. There's also an MP3 player with great sound quality to ensure that you can enjoy your favourite tunes on the go.

GPS

Hardly a surprise, but the HTC HD2 follows the trend of most modern devices by incorporating GPS technology. Used in tandem with the mapping software you can easily navigate your way through the country without any undue difficulties.

Memory

Not the best feature of this particular phone, or indeed many of the HTC devices, internal memory is at something of a premium. 512 MB leaves it way behind competitors such as Nokia; however, there is a Micro SD slot available and this can accept cards up to 32 GB, which should give you plenty of space to store and transport all your favourite files.

Design

Finally, one of the real key features of the HTC HD2 has to be the sleek design. Due to the size of the screen, the phone itself isn't the smallest. However, at 157g and sizing up at 120.5 x 67 x 11 mm it could hardly be described as being too bulky either. The casing is modern and simplistic with a crisp black finish.
