Affiliate Marketing for Beginners - Do Not Quit!

For the beginning Affiliate Marketer and Work at Home individual, it's important to remember that you'll have to persevere in order to succeed. It will take time, but the more information you soak in and the more research and careful planning you have, the better. There are no true short-cuts to success. There certainly are some tools that will make the job easier, but nothing to do it all automatically.

For instance, most of you have a washing machine for clothes...but I bet that the laundry still piles up.

The assumption and mistake a lot of people make when it comes to affiliate marketing and ecommerce is that the technology will do the job for them. Read the copy from most of the products that advertise their tools and "secret information" for affiliate marketing. They all pre-suppose you are seeking an all-encompassing answer to success. That's not to say they don't have useful information - many of them do.

But when you are starting out in affiliate marketing or publishing your own ebook, you'll meet with a lot of barriers despite all the tools you have.

1. Your friends and family won't support you - they'll try to talk you out of it because they don't understand it.

2. You'll be discouraged by not having instant success - forgetting that it takes time and effort.

3. You'll lose money at first - purchasing ebooks with information and keyword helpers and web server space and...the list goes on.

The point is, you'll have to have a little lower expectation in order to not succumb to your instinct to quit.

YOUR REAL COURAGE SHOWS BEST IN THE HOUR OF ADVERSITY.

Some setbacks are so severe that to give in to them means losing the whole ball game. When he assumed command of the Korean War, Gen. Matthew Ridgeway found his forces pushed far to the south, hard pressed by the invaders. Only a determined decision to hold the lines allowed the American forces to keep from being swept into the sea and to eventually regain all the territory they had lost.

When a defeat strikes, you may not have the time to withdraw and contemplate your mistakes without risking further setbacks. Don't succumb to paralysis. It is important to know at that moment what it is you truly desire and to act to preserve your resources and your hope. If you crumble utterly, you will take a blow to your self-esteem that will be hard to repair. Instead, stick to your principles, and you will know, at the very least, that you have protected the most important thing you have.

Because like many of you - my family doesn't understand what I do and attempts to explain it to them have usually been met with negativity and suspicion. Affiliate marketers can get too hung up on expectations not meeting reality, that it can lead to paralysis and reactions that can be damaging.
