A study that was recently published in the BMC Genomics takes a closer look at the genetic affects of asbestos exposure. The study has reportedly offered insight as to how asbestos cancer illnesses develop and how they can be effectively treated.

Systems Biology Used

Researchers have conducted many studies involving the body's response to asbestos and recent studies have included an approach known as "systems biology".

Systems biology studies many genes as opposed to just one at a time in order to get a more systemic observation.

Using this method, data was generated and genetic changes were tracked so any changes in DNA could be linked to various asbestos cancer diseases.

Research Conducted Reveals New Information

By detailing different genes and the effects of asbestos on these genes, researchers were able to see a complex configuration among the genetic responses to asbestos.

Additional information about these genes offers hope to the many people that have become victims of asbestos cancer diseases, including asbestosis and mesothelioma cancer.

Living with Mesothelioma Cancer

Mesothelioma cancer is a fatal form that can have a detrimental affect on the lining of the lungs.

This type of cancer is caused by asbestos exposure and researchers are working hard to find a cure so this disease doesn't continue to take lives.
