Moles means clusters of pigmented cells that are small, dark brown spots in appearance. They can be seen on face, arms and legs. Around 15-40 moles can be found on a person's body but the number may vary from person to person. They are not dangerous but may take the form of cancer. They can be oval or round in shape.
What do Moles Look Like?
Moles are generally medium to dark brown in colour though they range from skin coloured to black. The majority of moles are flat, relatively even in colour and regular in shape. Some moles are raised and these are usually soft to touch and lighter in colour. Moles need to be distinguished from freckles of the kind that occur on the faces of red headed and fair skinned children or on the shoulders following a sunburn. Occasionally moles may develop a white halo around them (halo naevus) and then disappear; this is a natural process and generally harmless.
Causes of moles
* Proliferation of the pigment cells
* Hereditary
* Exposure to sunlight
Home Remedies for moles

* Applying fresh cut pineapple on the affected area several times in a day will help in mole removal.
* Apply juice of fig stems to the area and leaves for sometime.
* Massage the area with castor oil twice in a day, it will make the area soft and reduce itching.
* Crush the vitamin C tablets and apply them on the area, cover it with adhesive bandage.
* Apply a drop of grape fruit extract on the area 4-5 times in a day and cover it with some cloth or bandage.
* Application of tea tree oil to the area for 8-10 days is also an effective remedy.
* Soak the area in warm water for 20-25 minutes and pat it dry. Apply cider vinegar with cotton balls and leave it for sometime, till it gets dry. Then again wash it with water and dry the area.
*Avoid peak sun times. It's best to avoid overexposure to the sun, but if you must be out of doors, try to stay out of the sun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., when ultraviolet rays are most intense.
