Among affordable small cars, the Honda Civic Hybrid is considered one of the best options on the market by many reviewers. With an excellent design and an impressible gas mileage, the car is also available at an affordable price. The car has been praised for its sleek appearance and well as its comfortable, luxury interior. Some of the optional upgrades are also quite impressive such as a voice recognition driven navigation system, satellite radio, heated seating, and leather upholstery.

The safety of the car is top notch among Honda cars, or any cars for that matter. It received a five star government crash rating for passengers and drivers in front impacts. In side impacts, it earned a five star rating for drivers and a four star rating for passengers. It also earned a four star rating for rollovers during a crash. The insurance industry gave it the "Top Safety Pick" for 2010. The car also comes with anti lock brakes, brake assist, an electronic brake distribution system, traction control, stability assist, and six air bags.

The exterior of the vehicle is considered more appealing than other hybrids, taking on a more conventional appearance but still very aerodynamic. The gas mileage is very good, with 40 miles per gallon in the city and 45 miles per gallon on the highway. This is better than any other car in its class. The car also handles and brakes more effectively than the majority of hybrids on the market.

Reviewers are very fond of the interior of the car, consisting of high quality materials and a great deal of room. The adjustable seats and steering column make it easy to sit and drive comfortably. This is especially true for the rear seats, which are considered to be roomy enough for most people, a rarity for a car of this size. Features that are usually intended for more expensive cars come standard with the car including automatic climate control, a six speaker audio system, and speed sensitive audio volume.
