Affiliate Marketing - Introduction To The Perfect Internet Business (Part 1 Of 2)
Affiliate marketing is based on a very simple concept. It is a incentive-based marketing where the 'incentive' is actually derived from profit sharing. In other words, what it means is that you will help to promote other people's product and you will get commissions for every sale that is being made by you.
One thing that you have to know is that internet merchant always wants more traffic and visibility. They will not be able to get as much if they do the whole marketing on their own. That is the reason why they create affiliate programs. What it means is that they will create their own "virtual sales team" that can go out and help the merchant to get all the extra traffic and sales.
The unique thing is that any one can sign up to be an affiliate for any online merchant. When you sign up as an affiliate for the company, you are not actually working for the company as an "Employee".
What you will become instead is a free agent who is free to market and promote the company at will. The only reason why you will put in the work and effort to market and promote the company is because the company gives you incentive for doing so. That incentive will be affiliate commissions.
Affiliate commissions are commissions that are being paid on referred sales. Most of the time, your commissions will be a certain percentage of the product's price although sometime your commissions will be a flat fee.
