Well, we have now so many bikes/motorcycles that it becomes difficult to keep track of the latest models as all the major bike manufacturers keep on launching one bike or the other in short time frame. The Indian bike market has been ruled by Hero Honda for quiet a long before Bajaj gave it a serious competition. Splendor and later Pulsar had taken almost everybody by storm and drove the bike sales. There was a time when the Indian bike market was ruled by Rajdoot and Enfield. But with the entrance of Hero Honda the scene changed dramatically. Now, the scenario is such that Bajaj which was known for its scooters have also come with full force in the bike market and it has got sure winner with Pulsar.

The surge in bike market can be attributed to the rising income levels and the purchasing power of the very powerful Indian middle class and to the ever-ready banks willing to give bike loans. Also, the competitive pricing has kept the bike market going. And this market is expected to only increase. I foresee a very good time for the Indian bike makers.
Recent entries like Pulsar DTSi and TVS Apache score where our earlier bikes failed- world class looks. These bikes are very attractive and have most modern features. Also these bikes offer decent mileage and so are attractive to youth as well as the office goer types (although apache is specifically targetted at the youth).
