Premature ejaculation is sometimes classified as an erectile dysfunction condition and is thought to affect up to 40% of men sometime in their sexual life. Fortunately, most men afflicted with this condition will recover completely and naturally without doing anything to treat it. That could be the reason why more young men suffer from his condition than older men.

It is thought that younger men are more susceptible because of their higher testosterone levels, are more excitable and/or are inexperienced about their sexuality. As they age, these issues will go away by itself. For the unfortunate ones, then medical or other treatments may be required to address this male sexuality issue.

Researchers on this topic have generally defined premature ejaculation as when a man ejaculates within two minutes or less upon penetration or even before penetration. However, this definition is rather broad and controversial as there are many types of premature ejaculations and people's varying perceptions of the condition. Nowadays, it is generally accepted that premature ejaculation occurs when a lack of ejaculation control interferes with sexual and/or emotional well being in one or both partners. To put it simply, it is ejaculation before sexual satisfaction is achieved.

This condition was once thought to be a psychological issue. Today, most if not all doctors agree that biological factors also play a part in some premature ejaculation cases. It can also be caused by a combination of both psychological and biological influences.

So how do we treat premature ejaculation problem? A very common way is called the "squeeze technique". This technique is simply used to stop the sexual act just before ejaculating. The man or his partner just places the thumb on the frenulum which is a connecting membrane on the underside of the penis and at the same time applies pressure to the head of the penis with the other fingers. This pressure is applied until the urge to ejaculate is over or not so intense. Once that is achieved, the couple can then proceed with their activities. This can then be repeated again and again until the man wants to ejaculate voluntarily.

Then there are creams readily available to be applied on the penis head to desensitize it. These creams serve as a mild anesthesia to the penis and thus making it not so sensitive to stimulation. In this way, the man can have a longer erection without reaching climax too quickly. These creams are also commonly used by men who want to prolong their erection.

Another way to desensitize the penis is to wear more than one condom. However, this is not a very popular method as it can be cumbersome and some men have a psychological aversion to condoms thinking that using condoms dampens their sexual satisfaction.

Since there are many causes of premature ejaculation are psychological in nature, hypnosis may be another option to treat the condition. Hypnosis can be used to reduce stress and anxieties or to calm over excitement that induces premature ejaculation. There are also several over the counter supplements to help you to delay your ejaculation.

As there are so many natural treatments and preventions, premature ejaculation is no longer a frustrating issue to most men. If these natural prevention treatments do not help your condition, then you may want to seek professional medical help.
