What Do You Think Of Sin?

In this politically correct world you do not hear about sin because everything is okay. To say someone is a sinner is being intolerant. Whatever they think is right is right. In the book of Proverbs in the fourteenth chapter Solomon instructed his son "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death".

In the ninth verse of that same chapter in Proverbs is the warning "Fools make a mock of sin, but among the righteous there is favor". Sin is not something to make fun of. There are comedians that make light of the sins of the flesh and people think it is funny. There is nothing funny about sin or its consequences.

God gives us His Word so that you may know what is right and wrong in His eyes. For someone to laugh at what displeases God is indeed foolish. But even Christians have become hardened to the sin that is prevalent in our society. If you desire the favor and blessings of God you must strive to live a life of righteousness. That is living according to God's Word and Way. That will not save you but will put you in favor with Him. It will not make God love you more because He loves you no matter what you are doing but just as an obedient child pleases his parents, so to is God pleased with an obedient child.

God loves everyone in this world. He gave His only Son so you could have life everlasting and life abundant. He did this not because of anything or attitude you had but because He wants to reconcile you and whosoever will believe in Jesus back to a close fellowship with Him. Jesus died for and because of sin. Your sins and the sins of the world. Sin is not something God takes lightly. What was His reaction to Sodom and Gomorrah?

It has been said that if God does not bring judgment on America for her sin He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. That may or not may not be true. However His Word tells us "Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people". Proverbs 14:34. If America is to return to its power and glory it must turn against sin.

Praise God, sin can and will be forgiven but the consequences go on. Murderers can be forgiven but their victims are still dead. Drug users can be forgiven and cleaned up but the effects on the body and families are still present. Absolutely nothing good comes from sin. So why do you not reject it. Why do you tolerate it in the things you watch on television or in the movies? Do you reject things that are sin or do you embrace them. Do you believe the politically correct (corrupt) or do you live according to the Word? You may not be able to change the world or society but you can change your life and live it for Christ.

If you have never invited Jesus into your heart to be your savior do it now. Simply pray that you understand you have sinned against God and His Word and you believe Jesus died, was buried and resurrected so your sins could be forgiven. Ask Him to forgive you of your sin and to come into your heart and become your savior and Lord of your life. Then begin to be obedient to His Word. Let the Holy Spirit, which is now in you, grow you into the image of Jesus. If you already know Him as Savior are you letting Him have control of your life? Do you strive to be more like Him every day? Do you resist sin that so easily besets you? Yield your body, spirit and soul to Him and let Him use you for His glory.

God hates sin and so should you.
