Getting started is easy, just follow these simple steps and you will find the perfect style for your layouts. Once you find it, you are well on your way to creating the perfect scrapbook for any occasion. First, you need to decide which style best fits your theme wither it is Chronological, Topical or Thematic.

Chronological scrapbooking is just that, scrapping the events in your life as they occur. This is truly a record of your life. Day by day, month by month or year by year.

Topical is organized and scrapped by the topic or theme with on section for each event. Topics may include Christmas, vacations, family pets and school days just to name a few. Scrap whatever is important to you and your family.

Thematic - organize your thoughts and photos. Is there one theme or event that stands out? Capture it an album all on its own.

Once you figure out which style fits you, here a couple of ideas to help preserve your scrapbooks.

Remember the importance of quality products. When you select and purchase products, it is important to use only those that help preserve your memories. Use only archival supplies. These are products that are free of harmful elements that will discolor or even ruin your photos. Archival supplies will keep all your precious memories safe for years to come. Use acid free papers and albums as well as Lignin free papers. These papers are buffered and have an additional layer of protection for your photos and memorabilia.

Keep your albums safe from harmful environments. Keep away from direct lights and prolonged exposure to humidity. Store all your books in an accessible but protected area.

By following these few simple steps, you are on your way to capturing all you life's precious moments. They will be archival safe for years and years to come.
