Tips for Choosing the Right Wedding Invitation

A wedding is a very special occasion, and the invitation that announces such an event should complement it. With so many kinds of wedding invitations available, choosing one design can seem like a tall order.

For brides and grooms, here are factors to consider when you choose your wedding invitation:

1. Design

Wedding invitations should make a good impression to the people you are sending them to. If your wedding has a theme, then the invitation should match that theme. If you want photos to be incorporated in the invitation, choose a design that does not make the photos seem out of place.

2.  Fonts and Colors

Most of the wedding invitations available nowadays already have matching fonts and font colors. But if you want to further customize your invitation, or if you want to design the invitation yourself, be conscious of the readability of the font style you like to use. Some font styles really look good and classy but can be difficult to read. Choose font colors that are in harmony with the rest of the design.

3. Content

Personalize your invitation by adding short texts that relate to you, be it an excerpt of a poem or a book, a Bible verse, a line in a song, or a dialogue in a movie.

Make sure that there are no misspellings and erroneous dates or venues. Even if the proofs of the invitation have already been checked before printing, it is highly recommended to go over the content of the final wedding invitations before sending them. Typographical errors are glaring considering the low volume of text in an invitation.

4. Invitation Size, Paper Quality, and Budget

Decide on the budget before you begin viewing the seemingly endless selection of invitation designs. You can even use this budget as the criteria to narrow down your choices.

Paper quality is something that should not be overlooked. The design may look good on your computer screen but may not be the same when it arrives from the printer if the paper quality is poor.

The size of the invitation itself is something to consider as well. Bigger invitations together with the envelopes could cost more than you expect.

Choosing a wedding invitation does not need to be complicated. Remember, the design of the invitation should reflect the personality of the couple and give the invitees a glimpse of the wedding day itself.
