5 Ways To Get Into Action, Stay in Action, and Get Results

1. Cut your "To Do" list in half

Lighten your load, free yourself up. A big To Do list will only slow you down and make you feel ineffective, especially if there are things on your list more than 2 weeks old.

2. Clearly define what you want

Whether it's to earn $250,000 annually, launch a new business, or hit $1 million in sales, the important thing to remember is clarity. What exactly do you want? What does it look like? Once accomplished, it will be easier to measure and track your progress.

3. Define "simple-to-follow" action steps

Sometimes we over-complicate things; we make things harder than they have to be. Before going off on a tangent, ask others in similar (and not so similar) situations what they are doing. What steps did they take to achieve what they wanted. Now define the actions steps that are right for you; make sure they're clear and easy to carry out. This will ensure consistency and completion.

4. Set reasonable milestones that are still a stretch

Most of us are spoiled - spoiled by technology and by having an "instant gratification" mindset that leaves us wanting results immediately. By setting milestones, you will better assure success because you are working towards the goal in smaller steps versus giant steps. Although the steps might be smaller, make sure they're big enough to make you stretch a bit in order to achieve.

5. Get leverage on yourself - find an accountability partner

Find someone who can and will hold you accountable. Stay away from those who will let you off the hook. You want to stay on track; you want to be reminded constructively of what you should be doing. Be it an associate, coach, or other advisor, you want someone who will provide you with insight and feedback, not just an opinion of what they think you should or shouldn't be doing.
