Residual Income - Put This Powerful Resource to Work for You!

There are basically two types of income, linear, which the everyday person with a job receives, and non-linear or residual income. With linear income the money continues to come in as long as you continue to work, but with non-linear income you get paid over and over for work you did once.

A prime example of non-linear or residual income would be a recording artist. They write and record a song and every time a recording of that song is sold, the artist receives a portion of the sale, even years after its first release. The same thing happens with movie stars who opt for a lower salary initially in exchange for a portion of the royalties. A hit movie can pay an actor for life. But, if you aren't gifted with the ability to write, act or sing, how can the average person put this powerful financial tool to work for them?

With the rise of the internet the opportunities for average people like you and I to make a residual income has increased exponentially. Network marketing, which has the potential to create a large residual income for those representing the products of a company to others, used to have to be done face to face, either in your home or at the traditional hotel meeting.

Today, the internet has made it possible to contact others wanting financial freedom anywhere in the world, and build relationships that will add associates to your business, thus increasing your residual income. But, building a network marketing business takes lots of time and effort, and many just don't have the patience to persist until the rewards are reaped, which explains the 90% dropout rate across the network marketing industry.

I recommend that anyone who is just getting started in building a business from home, utilizing the internet, look at affiliate programs as the logical place to start. With affiliate programs, you are assisting someone who has a product (information products like E-books are excellent to work with, as they can be instantly downloaded after purchase) sell it to customers who have a need. Many publishers of information products will offer as much as 75% commissions for every sale that you send to them, and it's not unusual to be paid $40-50 per sale.

Once you learn how to drive qualified traffic to the offer, you can basically leave it to bring in sales, while you look for the next product you want to represent. However, you will see consistent checks coming in (and getting larger) even though you are no longer working on that particular project. Also, once you have successfully created one campaign for an affiliate program, you can duplicate your efforts for others, creating multiple streams of residual income.
