Developing Your Positive Self

You're in a room full of people. Across the room you see someone who's name you know but you don't "know" that person. For some reason you're thinking that person doesn't approve of you or that they feel sorry for you. A week or so later you find out that their opinion of you was totally opposite. Where does that thinking come from? It comes from within. It's your own image of yourself. You see, we can tell ourselves all sorts of positive things about ourselves but we must truly believe them. Anytime you're trying to use affirmations for yourself that are not in true balance with yourself, they aren't going to work.

I read something yesterday where the guy said he was chanting "I am great", but it never worked for him. Putting up pictures of fancy cars didn't either. Did he reach success? Absolutely and in a really big way. How did he do it? He finally understood that those things were just symbols of "justifying" his involvement. They were not in line with his belief in himself. If you want to open the channel for positive belief in yourself to really flow, you must begin with something that you know is true about yourself and build on it. There is a quality or talent that you have right this very minute that you can begin using immediately.

If you are so lost that you can't see it then go get a couple of biographies on leaders the you admire. What field they are or were in is irrelevant. You're reading to see what traits and quirks that you have in common with them. Learn how they capitalized on their strengths and weaknesses. If reading 2 isn't enough to convince you then read a couple of more. And keep reading until you can honestly see what you have in you that they have.

The man I told you about did that very thing. When he read about Ceaser that's when he realized what he had in himself. That' when he knew he could and would succeed. Today, he's worth millions. You would laugh if you knew where he started from.

Your perception of your self is one of the greatest tools that you have. Identify it, build on it and see yourself reaching new heights.
