Barcelona is a city with an abundance of museums and decising which one to visit can be hard. Below we look at our ten favourite.

1. Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona - The MACBA displays contemporary artwork from all over the world. There are plenty of interesting exhibitions to keep you entertained. With lots of Catalan artists and artwork documenting the 70s and 80s in Barcelona, you'll also learn a little about Barcelona's history.

2. Museu de la Xocolata - Always a favorite, a trip to the Museu de la Xocolata is pure fun. Many of the displays are chocolate sculptures of famous people, places, and stories. There is a chocolate sculpture of Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia and Casa Batlló, of course. Other displays explain the discovery of the cocoa bean and the emergence of chocolate as a worldwide treat. And although your ticket into the museum is a chocolate bar, be sure to try the hot chocolate and bonbons before you leave.

3. Museu Picasso - A trip to Barcelona wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Museu Picasso. Picasso's work is organized chronologically, which allows viewers to see the progression of his work. The collection includes artwork from Picasso's early teens all the way to his last years and includes paintings, drawings, engraving, ceramics, and collages. Be sure to check out the famed Las Meninas.

4. Museu de Carrosses Fúnebres - Like nothing you've ever seen before, The Museu de Carrosses Fúnebres is a delightfully creepy museum of funeral carriages and hearses. The collection houses gorgeous and ornate hearses from the18th century to the 1950s. Bonus: free admission.

5. Fundació Foto Colectania - This museum is perfect for any photography enthusiast. With over 2,000 works by Spanish and Portuguese photographers, this is an impressive and interesting collection.

7. Museu d´Història de Catalunya - You'll leave this enormous museum with a better understanding of Catalunya, starting with the ancestors of Catalunya and ending with Franco's dictatorship.
