Many people when they think of landscaping think that it involves quite a lot of land. Country houses in particular seem to be mainly featured within gardening magazines and that can give people living in urban areas the wrong idea that they cannot create anything in their gardens. They think that their garden is too small and that it is only country houses that can create beautiful gardens. However, this is simply not the case and the good news is, no matter how big or small your garden is, you can turn it into whatever you want it to be.

Creating the Perfect Landscaping No Matter What the Size of Your Garden

If you have a fairly small garden it does not mean that you cannot create something beautiful. You simply just have to think on a smaller scale and realize that things can be achieved but not in a huge way. For example, if you want trees in your garden, it is unrealistic to put large trees into a small garden as it will just look silly. However, that does not mean that you have to give trees a miss altogether.

There are several species of tree which only grow to either small or medium heights. Smaller trees would be perfect for a small garden and they can even be used as a centerpiece in the middle of your lawn. Another way in which you can incorporate small trees into your garden is to use them as little features at either side of your door. Perhaps have them in a pot or surrounded by stones. Either way, small trees can make the entrance of any home seem impressive and homely.

Flowers are obviously another easy way to brighten up the landscape within the garden. Obviously you will not be able to create a large scale flower bed, but by using the space that you do have wisely, you should be able to create something beautiful. A simple design you could try and create for a small garden includes a small patio area followed by a flower bed down one side of the garden with stones as borders. Then a walkway could lead from the flowerbed across to the other side of the garden where you could place a small water feature, perhaps maybe just a birdbath depending upon your space, and a garden bench to sit and watch everything.

Overall it is really easy to be creative once you get your mind started. Try and think of everything you would like within the garden and if you find it is too big, simply downscale it a little if you can. Just because you have a smaller garden it does not mean that you cannot make it look impressive and scenic. Just use your imagination and you will find that the results can be pretty amazing!
