If you are looking for both a mobile phone and quality PDA then the Samsung i600 may be just what you are looking for. Powered by Microsoft Windows and offering a vast array of both phone and PDA functionality, the phone is compact and easy to carry, with Candy Bar style dimensions of 111 mm x 59 mm x 12 mm. The sleek polished design is sure to attract a number of new PDA users to the market, as it is less bulky than some of the others available. The Samsung i600 is a natural progression from the earlier Samsung I500 smartphone, which proved very popular.

The phone has a QWERTY keyboard which may take some users a little while to get used to, although bearing in mind the PDA facilities tucked away in this phone it is hardly surprising that they have gone for a more traditional computer keyboard. The keys themselves are surprisingly easy to use bearing in mind the number of keys required, and compact area available. Raised and well positioned there is little likelihood of pressing the wrong button. For the more general phone functions there is a navigation roll control under the main screen.

The screen itself is an enlarged with 320 x 240 pixel resolution and able to cope with up to 262,000 colour variations to give a sharp focused display - which is a little diminished in direct sunlight but not enough to make a real difference. There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera which while impressive, is not quite top end of the current mobile market. This offers your standard pictures and video footage, which can be stored on the internal memory, or externally via one of the memory expansion connectors. There is also a secondary camera on the rear for the emerging video conference function which is starting to become popular.

When you also take into account the standard WAP browser, Bluetooth, USB, WiFi and Infra-red connectivity functionality available, the phone really starts to take shape. The Samsung i600 also covers the standard SMS, MMS and email messaging services which are becoming more and more important to the business community. All of this is before even mentioning the quality PDA incorporated into the handset which offers a great mobile office facility ensuring that your information can always be to hand.

The Samsung i600 will most definitely do well in the current market place, and is fully up to date with 3.5G functionality and the services expected. An impressive offering.
