The Human Need for a Father

Once upon a time, in a life I lived absent a lot of spiritual understanding and a meager amount of intellectual aplication, I saw God as a FATHER who somehow lived OUT THERE. I had mental pictures of this SUPER HUMAN. Most Christians hold such a view because we all feel a need for a male image to connect even though it is the female from which we come and are nourished.

I have tried for years to shed the "Father image out there" and while I've made some progress, the concept is so ingrained in my psyche that I don't know if I'll ever lose it. Do I really want to- need to? Probably not so long as I keep the reality of who God is as focused as possible. But, in the end we all feel a need that grows out of our humanhood for a personal model to follow.

God is neither a male, man, no father as we conceive of an earthly father.

God is SPIRIT, consciousness.

Some people can only understand God if he's been PERSONALIZED and I would never want to take that away from anyone; however, I would want to add more of the reality of God's impersonal attributes to their base. But there's yet another religious hurdle to leap before we can jump into the arms of this Spirit Being that I AM.

In the intellectual circles the crutch is much different. And it's with that group who with their mental prowess feel they are beyond a "physical God". For them it all comes down to theological constructs and dogmas- all of which they've formulated or come into agreement. No matter the paradigm that we use, let me remind you of two things.

1-A person with an experience is never at the mercy of a person with an argument.
2-Love is the yeast that allows the spiritual bread to rises.

Begin with a father, add to it theological constructs, but end with real experiences! Taste as see that the Creator, Consciousness, Spirit is GOOD- VERY GOOD!

As a spiritual-futurist, I interpret current events in light of possible macro-universal forces at play leading up to 2012, but not limited to it.
