Steps to a Great Cardio Workout

Most of you are aware that the heart is one of the most vital organs of our body and yet it is also one of the most sensitive parts of the body which is also subjected to a number of diseases and complications.  According to many fitness experts, cardio exercises must be performed in at least thirty minutes to an hour. 

If your job has caused your daily activities to be confined in your work cubicle and sedentarily be exhausted with office job, you have the tendency to often feel tired and inactive. The same response happens to your heart when your body is not challenged so you always feel muscle pains and drowsiness. Thus, you need to boost your heart through exercise.  Here are the basic and practical steps to a great cardio workout.

1.Swimming - This water activity is indeed one of the most interesting activities since it is a great past time as well. A 30-minute breaststroke swimming will definitely help your burn around 400 calories.

2.Running - It is suggested to constantly challenge our heart in order to help it pump blood to our system more effectively.  It is very practical and cost efficient exercise especially for those who love outdoor activities.  You can run in the parks or if you are a home buddy, you can avail of the home workout machines. Fitness experts suggest a 30-minute run for those who weigh 145 pounds.

3.The Step Aerobics - Another way to give you a healthy heart and at the same time maintain your good shape is the step aerobics. You basically need an aerobic video if you workout at home, and then a block or a step to provide elevation and challenge to the aerobics. A 30-minute step aerobics can help you burn around 400 calories.

4.Cycling - Cycling can be done either outdoor or indoor.  You can pull out your bikes in the garage and bike around or to add challenge do an uphill and downhill cycling.  If you are an indoor buddy, you may use those cycling machines at home. This routine particularly targets your legs, your thighs and your hips as well.  Make at least 250 - 500 cycles or 30 minutes of cycling every day.

These routines do not only work to improve your hearts condition but also helps your lose weight, have healthier lungs, reduce stress and have increased bone density.
