Internet Marketing, Why Use Software Assisted Writing

If there is one thing all new web masters learn right away is that there are a variety of software products they will need to learn in order to produce their web sites. They each have there own learning curve to over come. But it is not until they are about half way there that they realize that writing is not one of their strengths. What to do? The easy way out is to pay for it either with money or with back links. The best way is to learn how to write.

While this may seam like a daunting task it could be as simple as buying another software product. There are products on the market that are referred to as software assisted writing. These are somewhat controversial in nature for two reasons, one technical the other psychological.

The technical problem with these products is that their output is so stilted that it is easy to detect as artificial. To get around this what they are now doing is retrieving complete sentences from the Internet after you input a keyword phrase into a function that acts like a mini search engine. The function takes the keyword phrase searches the Internet for complete sentences that have it incorporated. You simply take the list of sentences and build paragraphs with them. You start with the introduction then a number of subtopics and finally the conclusion. The problem is that all you now have is a collection of sentences that are already on the Internet and this is simply not acceptable writing. What you are asked to do is take the output and port it to your word processor and put the whole thing into your own words. However the selection of sentences you are working with may not give you a full and congruent picture for you to work with. So you have to go back to the program and do one of two things. Do more keyword searches or go to the websites that these sentences came from and do some old fashion research and note taking to get the depth you need for your article. All in all this process is workable if you have the patience to learn another software product.

The psychological problem with these products is that there are those purists that will browbeat you into thinking that there is some thing wrong with doing things like this. There is an inherent danger with this kind of software. If this software is used as a temporary crutch to learn how to write than there should be no problem. But if you become lazy you will never learn how to write because you are addicted to the software doing most of the work. The trick here is to learn how to use this software as a research tool and not as a writing tool. Everyone has their favorite research tools and so can you. Because of the controversial nature of these programs this is certainly not something for every one. Only the individual can determine if they have what it takes to use this kind of software properly. Writing as not that hard to learn but getting lazy is something that we all have to guard against.

So why use software assisted writing? Content creation should be the underlining concern here. That content should be of the highest quality so that your visitors will be back enjoying your web site over and over again and be on their bookmark list to facilitate their return. However in the real world time is also a concern. Time is money and you need to spend it wisely. Research can be a very time consuming part of your writing and software can be a time saving tool. As long as you use software as a tool to do research and the mechanical aspects of your wring there should be no problems just don't use the raw output as content because that simply is not acceptable writing. Every writer has their favorite writing tool. It can be as silly as a lucky pen or as practical as a peace of software.
