A New Life For The New Year

The New Year is just around the corner. Each time a year comes to a close we harbor the hope that the coming year will be much fruitful than the last one. We hope we will have more luck, more money, better opportunities and so on. However, if do not initiate the change ourselves there will be no hope of a better scene in our lives in the coming years.

Your reality now is the product of what is going on in your mind. If you pause for a while and examine the content of your thoughts and compare it with the reality that you are experiencing now you will know that it is true. Problems & trials come your way but if you keep these misfortunes in your mind, it will embed itself in your consciousness & will soon become a belief that you are indeed an unfortunate person.

If you keep thinking the same thoughts you have in the last years then expect the same life in the coming years. As James Allen says, "as a man thinketh, so is he." Your thoughts are actually habits you have accumulated all throughout your life. Habits as you know can become an unconscious action, an automatic movement that even you may not even noticed you are doing it at all.

I am sure you have heard one or two rags-to-riches stories or success stories. These people did not get rich or successful just by hoping that luck will find them one day. They got rich by the firm belief that they will be rich one day, coupled with a very clear vision of what they want. No, they did not win the lottery they worked hard but with good opportunities by their side and they were at the right place at the right time. They are "lucky" not by chance but because luck favored them for their belief that abundance is truly their destiny.

There were failures I am sure but they viewed failures as opportunities for learning, for improvements, or blessings disguised as problems. How do I know all these? Well, because they are where they are right now, aren't they? A mind set of success creates a successful life. A mind set filled with sorrows will always create a sorrowful life. What you planted will be what you will reap in the end.

As you reflect about your life for the coming year, just bear in mind these words of wisdom. I do not know who penned these quotes but it encapsulates everything, "If you want to have what you never had, then you must do what you've never done. Because if you only do what you've always been doing, you will only have what you've always been having..."
