Considering the Switch - Think Again

Recently I have been strongly considering making the big switch. That's right jumping from Microsoft to Apple. I am doing more and more with digital media and ilife is an amazing digital media application. The issue with me has always been price. To get a quality mid to high end Mac it will cost you $2000. That's money I just don't have or want to spend on a personal computer. I have never used a Mac running OS 10 so maybe there is something else other than ilife that would make it worth my $2000 but at this point it is not worth the money to me. So the dilemma continued. Does great software outweigh high price? Then Microsoft finally releases Vista. From the reviews I have read it's a very Mac like operating system. Looks like I will be able to get great integrated software without the high price.

Microsoft now has integrated searching, a new media player, and a photo application similar to iphoto. These are not the only new features, but they are the ones I will taken advantage of first. I will be switching from itunes to Windows Media Player to organize and play my digital media and I will use the built in photo application rather than Google's Picasa. I normally do not get excited when Microsoft releases something, but this time I truly have to say "wow" (pun intended - Microsoft slogan for Vista is the wow starts now). Besides the better apps I was impressed with the look of the operating system. Now you get a live preview of your applications running in the task bar by rolling your mouse over them. How cool is that? My next computer purchase will be a laptop running Vista rather than a Mac.
