Dermatologists believe that the blackheads are the second step to the growth of acne. If the black heads are not effectively cleaned then as more and more oil is secreted by the sebaceous gland, higher quantities of oil is collected which will eventually lead to infection and the formation of acne. Blackheads look ugly on the skin and once they spread deep into the skin it is very difficult to remove them. Trying to squeeze them is not the right way to remove blackheads. It can make the situation worse and can give scars on the face. Read on to exactly to know, how to remove blackheads.
1. Use a gentle scrub every other day. Gentle natural scrubs can be found at natural food stores and some drugstores for $10-$15 or you can make your own. To make your own scrub at home, finely grind a handful of aduki beans and 1 tablespoon of oatmeal in a coffee grinder. Store in an airtight container. To use, mix a little bit of the powder with some water and gently massage the paste into your skin, avoiding the eye area. Rinse well in warm water.
2. Massage done by the scrubbers removes blackheads with the help of its roughness. Drink plenty of water which prevents the skin from getting blackheads. Avoid intake of tea and coffee which many aggravate blackheads. Always apply oil free moisturizers on your skin.
3. Take a potato, peel it and grate it. Crush the grated potato with your fingers to extract juice. Apply it evenly on your face or the skin affected with blackheads. Allow the potato juice to dry for 5 minutes, and then wash the skin with water. Do it once every alternate day.
4. Mix 2 drops of jojoba oil with 1 drop of rose hip seed oil (rosa mosqueta oil). Add 1 drop of lavender oil and gently spread this mixture on your face. You can use it on your entire face to help smooth out your skin and prevent new blackheads and acne. The jojoba and rose hip seed oils help dissolve the blackheads and reduce scarring from stretched out skin.
5. Fill a container with water, put it on flame to bring the water to boil. Put the flame off, bring your face over the container so as to get steam coming from the water on your face. Cover your head with a towel to prevent the escape of steam. Do it for about 2 minutes. This softens the blackheads. You can remove blackheads from nose and other parts of the face by rubbing them with a dry towel.
6. Take the white part of an egg and apply it on face. Allow it to dry for a 2-3 minutes. Spray a little amount of water on your face, and rub it gently for about a minute. This will mildly exfoliate the upper layer of skin, and will assist you in removing blackheads.
