You may remember about my investment in a new fancy mobile phone a few months ago, one of the fancy things about my new fancy phone is that it has something known as Bluetooth connectivity. I didn't really know what this was when I bought the phone, but I knew it was new and worth having and so I have been looking into it since. Here is what I found out: USB Bluetooth Dongle.
This new technology allows Bluetooth enabled devices, to connect and talk to each other without wires! So, this makes it possible to send your address book, phone numbers, pictures, music and other data stored on your mobile phone, to your computer for safe keeping or data from the PC to your mobile phone, without using any connecting wires. Once set up, I can wirelessly connect my PC to my mobile phone without even taking the phone out of my pocket (in theory) and transfer data by simply dragging and dropping files using the software that came with my Mobile Phone.
Most computers however, are not usually Bluetooth enabled, so this is where the USB Bluetooth Dongle, or Adapter comes in. This tiny USB device simply plugs into any USB port on your PC or laptop and allows your computer to receive and transmit using Bluetooth technology. To enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth, one of these is essential.
Bluetooth printers are now emerging on the market, meaning that you can print photos directly from your mobile phone without wires too. Bluetooth is set to be the next big thing in the world of mobile wireless connectivity, so watch out for all things Bluetooth.
Some Bluetooth trivia: Bluetooth was originally conceived by Ericsson in 1994 when they began a study to examine alternatives to cables that linked mobile phones and accessories. Bluetooth was named after Harald Blatand (or Bluetooth), a tenth century Danish Viking, king who had united and controlled large parts of Scandinavia which are today, Denmark and Norway.
