When we consider which of the consoles that we consider to be our very favourite, we must consider a number of factors. It is a somewhat dodgy task to compare one console to another, as this comparison is based on a number of considerations. Console features are part of this consideration along with exclusive games.

Possibly the most important aspect in choosing a console has to with the expected use of the console. For those who prefer a media center device, capable of maximizing the television experience by providing a maximal access to movies and shows, the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 will be the best choices. Unlike the Wii, these systems offer high definition resolution in addition to media center capabilities and support for various movie streaming services.

For those who are focused primarily on using the console as a gaming system, taste plays a factor in console selection. Console exclusives will drive these buyers to strongly consider which gaming franchises they prefer. Though most titles are released on XBox 360 and Playstation 3, certain game franchises are considered to be console exclusives, meaning that an XBox owner will miss out on certain titles specific to the Playstation 3, and the inverse is true as well. The Wii console, on the other hand, typically misses out on those titles altogether due to its lower processing power of the system. However, the Wii is the exclusive system on which to find many classic Nintendo franchises like Mario, Metroid and The Legend of Zelda.

We can also not exclude popular handheld consoles. Players who often take games on the road must make similar considerations about media capabilities and console exclusive titles. Often these gamers will choose the Sony PSP or the Nintendo DS based on game choices. Though the PSP is the clear winner in its media capabilities, the DS offers a much larger and more diverse selection of games that appeal to Nintendo's gaming faithful.

So what is the verdict on the best of the consoles? That seems to beyond an objective answer. However, for most people, the Xbox 360 is probably the best choice. The XBox 360 can fulfill all of the media center demands that a consumer may have. In addition, the more popular mainstream exclusive franchises like Halo, Gears of War and Fable are available only to Xbox 360 owners. In addition, the Kinect accessory and newer versions of the system match the Playstation 3 on features and the Wii on interaction motion play.
