Have you noticed that your clothes are fitting tighter, especially around the waist? This is the first place we notice weight gain. Fortunately, this is also where we first notice weight loss, so, don't despair. Help is on the way. There are numerous plans you can join that motivate you to start losing the inches around your waist.

Some tips derived from weight loss plans include the following:
Take Your Weight and Measurements

The very first and most important part of losing that belly fat is to take measurements so you will have a written record of your starting point so you will know that you are actually making progress.

When you first begin a diet and exercise program, you may find that you are not losing weight in the beginning because you are gaining muscle. This is because muscle is heavier than fat. If you add a few pounds but see that you are losing inches, you will be motivated to continue on your diet.

Take a Photo of Yourself - This will be the Before Photo

Most overweight people hate to take a photo but this can be a great motivational tool. When you see yourself in a photo and are not pleased with the way you look, this can be all the motivation you need to start a weight loss plan. Imagine how good you will feel after you lose the weight and take the after photo. Visualize how you will look after 10, 20, 30 or more pounds have been lost.

Join Support Groups

A great motivator is to join a support group. This may be anywhere from one to two friends to larger groups you may find at work or the local community center. This is a good motivational tool because everyone in your group has the same goal. There are many, many people who are trying to lose weight. Maybe you can be the one to start the group.

Reward Yourself For The Small Accomplishments

Weight loss is not easy. You must make many sacrifices such as staying away from desserts, rich tasty dishes like macaroni, spaghetti and other pastas, butter, etc. Reward yourself for the accomplishments you make. Treat yourself to a pair of shoes, a smaller size clothing item, etc. Just don't reward yourself with food that is not on your diet plan.

Get a Personal Diet Profile

Some parts of your diet are most likely just fine. You don't want to eliminate good eating habits you are currently following. You need a personal diet profile that will be used to create a diet plan specifically for you. The ideal diet is one where you can continue to enjoy some of the foods you like that are not detrimental to your diet. That can be accomplished with a personal diet plan.

Incorporate These Tips Into Your Daily Food Intake

* Drink Plenty of Water
* Keep some fat in your diet such as olives, avocados, and nuts
* Don't skip meals as this will lead to overeating later
* Eat more protein when you reduce calories to build up muscle that burns more calories than fat
* Eat plenty of fiber in the form of fruits and vegetables to regulate your digestion

These are just a few of the suggestions found in one of the best weight loss programs around.
