Are you embarrassed of the scars and the freckles that mar your pretty face? Well, in that case you are not the only one because this is a problem with a whole lot of people. Skin discoloration is a huge problem. So, what can you do if the marks bother you? The easiest solution is a skin whitener. It basically includes a range of cosmetics that attempts to lighten your skin. Application of these cosmetics will gradually fade away the marks on your face. However, it is extremely important that you find the best skin whitening treatment.
So, do you want to know how can you get the best whitener? Well, the first thing that you will need to clearly understand is the whitening creams and lotions do not actually whiten your skin; they just bleach the skin and lighten the ugly marks and zits. They just show their action on the hyper pigmented or dark areas of your face. If you want really good results then you can actually opt for the home skin whitening treatment. However, you need to remember that the home remedies work the best in small areas.
1. Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen Peroxide acts as quite an effective whitener and you will find them in teeth whitening creams and hair color kits. However the Hydrogen Peroxide that is available in the pharmacy shop near you is much lower in concentration and you can safely use it for the treatment at home. Remember that Hydrogen Peroxide will lose its efficacy and potency when it is exposed to the light- you always need to store it in a dark place. All you will need to do is pour out a bit of Hydrogen Peroxide on a cotton ball and apply it on the areas that you want to lighten.
2. Buttermilk
Did you know that buttermilk is a great skin whitener? It also cleanses you skin really well because of the fat content and the lactic acid. So, why exactly is buttermilk a great home remedy? The lactic acid present in buttermilk is alpha hydroxyl acid and this acid naturally exfoliates your skin by removing the dead skin cells, the excess oil and dirt. After the top layer of the skin is removed a newer and lighter layer substitutes it. Use a cotton ball to apply buttermilk and after 15 minutes rinse it off with warm water.
3. Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is a common ingredient in almost all whitener products available in the market. However if you want to use Glycolic acid for skin whitening treatment at home you will need to purchase it from a beauty supply shop. Glycolic acid is essentially a fruit acid and it works well as a chemical peel. If you are totally new to it apply the Glycolic acid, leave it on for a minute and then rise with warm water and cleanser. Next time leave it for a couple of minutes. After your skin becomes used to it you can leave it on for a bit longer but not more than 15 minutes. You skin will lighten visibly.
