Growing up, your parents may have gone overboard in taking care of you and protecting you from all possible harm. You may have experienced countless and seemingly endless sermons every time you get into trouble while adding on the side that one day, when you have a family of your own, you will be able to understand everything they went through. Years passed and now you are all grown up and are preparing to walk down the aisle to marry your "special someone" and embarking on a new beginning of creating a family of your own. With having your own family, you will go through what they went through. But right now, all you care about is your wedding day.

Overview of the Big Day

Weddings are one of the most favorite occasions celebrated by many. Though preparing for one takes up so much time and energy, nothing else is worth the hard work and sacrifices than witnessing a beautiful event such as this, and to have a perfect wedding day, the preparation of a wedding can take months. It is full of decision makings, second guessing of decisions and headaches. But the wedding day itself will always be memorable not only to the couple but to the guests as well.

To a married individual, his or her wedding day meant so much, and to a single individual, his or her wedding day is a major turning point in their lives. It is a day of nothing but special reasons to celebrate. Wedding are occasions wherein a man and a woman mutually share the consent to be united as husband and wife. This ceremony is influenced by both parties' cultural, traditional and religious backgrounds and personal preferences. It is a gathering of the families and friends of the bride and the groom. A priest or anyone recognized by the law is present to preside over the ceremony. Of course, no wedding is ever complete without a celebration. After the matrimonial ceremonies, the newlyweds welcome and receive their guests at a venue where they can share a meal of thanksgiving together and to celebrate the newly-founded union. Often known as the wedding reception, this time after the wedding ceremony is the perfect time for the newlyweds to interact with their guests and thank them for granting them the honor of their presence on such a special day. And to fully remember the day by, wedding speeches and toasts are given for the newlyweds. After this special day, their new life as husband and wife begins.

Significance of Wedding Day

We must not forget that the wedding day does not signify the union of the couple alone but it also serves as a new milestone in the newlywed's life. They are not only promising devotion and love to each other but are also promising to nurture and cherish their new family together. Wedding days are celebrations of the bride and groom's union and a celebration of the coming of a new family that is going to grow from this special union.
