Tips for Live Roulette

Anyone that goes to a casino or plays online is probably aware that the odds are always in favor of the house. What this translates to is that the odds of a player winning big are often slim to none. Live roulette is no different in that respect but sometimes Lady Luck comes to call and a player can find themselves with a big payoff by placing their bets strategically in the game of roulette.

Strategy? What Strategy?

You may go online and see that there are plenty of offers to sell you tips on strategies that will win the game of roulette. Don't believe in that hype. Live roulette is strictly a game of chance and one cannot predict what number will come up at any given time. Your best bet is to stick with a single number and place corresponding bets surrounding that number. If you constantly change numbers, your odds of winning decrease. Once your number has come up and you have your winnings, you may decide to try another number at this time or move to another table where your favorite number has not yet come up.

A Chip for Every Player

When you hand over your cash to the dealer for the desired amount of chips you will have a specific color that is all your own. This is how the dealer and the players can tell who bet what and where. Even if the number you favor is covered by other player's chips you can still place your chips on it. There is no set limit to how many bets can be placed on specific numbers. So play your hunch no matter what others are doing.

Roulette Etiquette

Never touch the chips on the table until the dealer clears the losers. Once he or she has distributed the payoff, then it is time to cradle your winnings. You cannot place a bet after the dealer has called "no more bets" and this is underlined by the dealer moving his hand over the roulette table without touching anyone's wagers. Another rule of thumb to follow is if your dealer has consistently thrown your number and you are on a winning streak. It is customary to tip the dealer to show your appreciation. Even though you are aware that the roulette dealer has no special powers to make your number come up, spreading the wealth is common in casinos and with the game of live roulette it is no different .
