We are all born with clear and flawless skin. But in due course of time, there can be various skin disorders. This is because as we grow and get outside, a number of external factors begin to affect us. Pollution, sun exposure, environmental conditions all take toll on the skin. And because of this your body may lower the production of melanin or the blood vessels won't function properly. Also, there can be a number of other disorders that you may develop due to excessive exposure to sunlight. Tanning and sun burns being the most common, there are plenty of complications after it

Here are some common skin pigmentation disorders:

Albinism
Albinism is a genetic disorder that is caused by the lack or complete absence of pigmentation in the skin. The body contains an abnormal gene that prevents the production of melanin. There may not be a complete cure for albinism but individuals suffering from it should take necessary precautions. They should apply sunscreen all through the day be it indoors or outdoors. This is because due to lack of melanin, the skin becomes extremely vulnerable to sun damage risking them to diseases like skin cancer. Try the all new Nia 24 Sun Damage Prevention SPF 30. It's a duo-action sun damage prevention solution that contains 100% mineral sunscreen in a weightless, oil-free lotion. It is instantly absorbed by the skin.

Melasma
Also known as chloasma, this particular disease shows as brown patches and tan marks across the face. Both men and women are equally susceptible to it though some term it as a 'pregnancy mask.' But the great news is it isn't permanent and can be treated very easily. And what's more, you can treat it yourself by using essential skin care products. Obagi Nu-Derm Blender promotes improvement at the cellular level and gets you an even skin color. You can also use Onagi Nu-derm Clear, a skin bleaching and Corrector Cream with 4 % Hydroquinonoe USP that corrects uneven skin tone and cures age spots.

Loss of Pigmentation due to Skin Damage
Whenever there is a skin-damage like burns, boils, blisters etc. it leaves behind a scar after it dries up. And there may be a loss of pigmentation in the affected area. But then again, an easy way to get rid of them is using appropriate cosmetics and skin care products. Obagi C-Clarifying Serum contains 4% hydroquinone + vitamin C serum along with L-ascorbic acid. While vitamin C penetrates the dermis to reduce melanosome activity the solution promotes an even skin tone and provides potent antioxidant therapy.

Vitiligo
This skin disorder happens when melanocytes get destroyed thus resulting in the formation of white patches on the skin. Certain diseases are linked to vitiligo like diabetes but there is no sure evidence about it. Sometimes it also happens because of lack of calcium. There is no cure for vitiligo as such but you can undergo several treatments to get rid of the white patches.

Whatever be the disorder, there are several skin care treatments available to rectify the results!
