Even though the attack of acne spares none, it is more among the males. Stats state that 80% of males as against 70% of females are the acne suffers. But the psychological impact of the acne attack is more among the female, for obvious reasons!

If it is an ordinary acne attack, hopefully it will come and go. In the meantime, you need to try your best for its speedy disposal, with over the counter medications, in consultation with your trusted doctor; using cleansers, gels or creams.

Many a times, attack subsides itself, even without your efforts. As, many of the acne attacks do not require any treatment as such! According to the school that belongs to natural and herbal acne treatment, acne is the process of the internal mechanism of your body. The internal body expels out the impurities lying within through the skin. And when that natural process is going on why should you create obstacles in its operation of clean-up? You are unnecessarily straining the layers of your skin by using medications. Though, this holds true to mild acne attack only.

But, when it comes to treating highly visible scars, the treatment mode has to change. When the attack of acne takes a severe form, it can lead to pustule and papule formation. This type of acne is called cystic acne. Cystic acne is bound to leave scars all over your face, when it goes. These are also known as hypertrophic, lumpy areas and they are clearly visible. The marks are hard to hide, even with the thick make up coats.

One of the methods to treat these scars is through laser treatment. Cryotherapy is another type of treatment to deal with these scars. Repeated freezing technique is employed to gently shrink the scar tissue. But then, even cryotherapy has its limitations in treating the warts or scars. For, human papillomavirus is not tackled and killed by cryotherapy. It spreads in to the surrounding tissues. The immune system within the body will normally take care of the virus, but sometimes, blisters appear as the side effects. You need to take into account this disadvantage of the treatment depending upon which part of your body the scars exist.
