Your Wealth Lies Within

As a wealth and prosperity mentor, I'm often asked: "How do I come up with the right idea/plan/business for generating wealth?"

I am an ardent believer in the maxim: 'Do what you love and the money will follow'. You do not need to come up with anything. Simply learn to look within, and value yourself. You are the right idea. You are your best business. You are your wealth!

You will feel more prosperous and wealthier when the right idea, plan and business for generating wealth relate to your passions and interests. There is absolutely no prosperity nor fulfilment in wealth that comes from doing things that you hate doing, nor is it necessary. Life becomes mechanical when your everyday actions are not in sync with who you really are and worse still, you run the risk of alienating yourself and feeling disembodied.

Look around and you will find that many people have proved that it is possible to earn a living just being who you are, which creates a much greater sense of prosperity than anything else. Bill Gates did not go looking for the right business idea. It developed from his passion. Donald Trump enjoys his property empire and understandably is a master negotiator.

Discovering the value in your passions and interests requires some inner work. First, you have to find what it is that you truly enjoy doing. Start by believing that all the answers lie within you, as opposed to being out there. Look over your life and career to date and ask yourself; "When and where have I been my happiest? What was I doing, and where was I? What made the difference?"

Part of success is tapping into our knowledge base to provide real value. Consider nothing useless.

Start now! Get a little notebook. It does not have to be expensive. You can pick one up for less than a pound or a dollar. Indulge yourself, and make some time to start on your plan.

Make a list of your experiences to date, your skills, and passions - everything you consider common. Keep adding to this list and learn to value every item on that list. Do not discount anything, even such things as your ability to keep calm in the midst of confusion, or your organizational skills. Do you like reading, writing, speaking? Can you add and subtract well, or even love working with spreadsheets or word processing?

Learn to value your skills and passions. They are the essence of your personality and can be the springboard for something greater.

From now on, make it a habit to constantly ask yourself the question, "What do I know that can be of value to someone." At the very least, it helps you to know and understand yourself better.

I always took such things like my love of reading, writing and speaking for granted. Until others told me often enough how much they disliked reading, and how terrified they are of speaking in front of an audience. Through reading, I completely educated myself in a number of subject areas that have helped me tremendously.

Start on your list now. Do not put it off. And be patient. It practically took me years after making my list before it all came together for me. With foresight it will takes you less. However, bear in mind that 'Rome was not built in a day'. Start now!

If you want to hasten your progress your best bet is to find an experienced wealth mentor to work with. Remember, 'Anything you can do, you can do it faster and better with a mentor.'

Ultimately, we all know a lot more than we give ourselves credit for. A large proportion of our knowledge base is often taken for granted because we erroneously assume that if we know something, then most people must know it too. So we discount what we know as useless or commonplace.

You might ask, "What has any of this got to do with generating wealth?" Oh, but this is where you need to trust that this process will work for you. You see, often when people talk about wanting wealth, it's not just about the money. In fact, it is never about the money. Yes, money is important because we have chosen to live in a society that uses money as the medium of exchange.

The secret however is, when you do more of what you enjoy, when you have the ability to experience more of your passions, you have the pleasure of living in abundance constantly. That is also wealth! And this kind of wealth is more powerful and self-sustaining; because it is an inner experience that no one can take from you. Believe me, the money will follow.

So, instead of starting from outside, start from inside believing that 'all the answers lie within you' simply waiting to be uncovered.

Your right idea, plan or business to generate wealth starts with you! You do not need to come up with anything. Simply learn to look within.
