There is local fishing and then there is something a bit more exotic. In this case, we are talking about Aruba fishing.

If you can imagine the world of fishing as a straight line, sitting on the banks of a small farm pond with a cane pole and a bobber might represent one end. On the other end it could possible be finding yourself strapped into a seat on the back of an Aruba fishing charter trying to reel in a 70 pound marlin. Deep sea fishing is the ultimate test of the fisherman as he battles the true monsters of the deep.

Aruba is a sun drenched island that sits about 25 miles north of Venezuela. The island is low and features sandy beaches on the south side protected from the battering of the ocean currents on the other side of the island. The island is a part of a group of islands known as the Lesser Antilles. The island is a part of the Kingdom of Netherlands and the Dutch influence is still seen in the names of the towns as well as in the unique language that is spoken there.

The main industry of Aruba is tourism and it is the deep sea fishing that attracts as many tourists as the lure of the white sandy beaches. Off the Island there are abundant amounts of sailfish, white and blue marlin, wahoo, shark, barracuda, amberjack, kingfish, and blackfin and yellowfin tuna. Fishing boats can be chartered for around $250 dollars for half a day up to around $600 for a full day. The charters include everything you will need from instruction to fishing gear.

The deep sea Aruba fishing is a true test of the fisherman's skill, strength, and determination matched against the power of some of the oceans most majestic fish. Although many people only dream of such a high adventure, the truth is that the dream can become reality for a lot less expense than most imagine. One of the things that have helped bring Aruba more into the reach of the fishing enthusiast is the internet. Everything from price to optimum times can be found online and reservations can even be made right from your home.

One of the things that have made Aruba fishing trips so popular is the incredible climate. It is almost hard to find a bad day for fishing there. The motto of Aruba is "One Happy Island." This certainly is a true expression of how you will feel about your own adventure there. There is a lot to do on Aruba and a lot to see, but it is the deep sea fishing that is really the main attraction here. It may very well be the ultimate fishing thrill in the world.
