The first time I heard this term of gay blog was a couple of years ago, when I went out for a drink.I have to admit that at first, mind went to a strange place. A weird place where I thought that sex is the keyword (can't blame). I imagined that the purpose of these gay blogs is to help people who are seeking for others. I was quite surprised to see that, this is not what LGBT blogs and Gay blogs are actually about.

To put it in a nutshell, a gay blog is designed not only for people who are homosexually oriented, but also for their supporters, lesbians, bisexuals and others. Gay bashings, gay prides or politics are only some of the topics which appear on some of these. The wide variety of blogs on the Internet for gay people are absolutely astounding. Gay men and gay women may have the same sexual orientation , but they can be extremely different, as many of them do not share the same interests. There are hundreds of gay blogs online, some of them popular while others are barely known, all for people of each possible interest, and while some of them are especially designed for heterosexuals others are for homosexuals and deal with different topics.

Unlike many tend to think, the LGBT blogs are about sex and not only. Of course that some of them are, let`s think straight: if some heterosexual blogs contain sexually related topics, does that mean they all are? No. A gay blog is a weblog and it's designed for a particular cathegory of people. The owner of a personal weblog can be gay, bisexual, lesbian or whatever, but under no circumstances can this be translated into pervert. Good many perverts are straight!

One of the very popular gay weblogs around the net is titled "wicked gay weblog" and it`s really funny, besides it has news included. The majorty of the news on this website is about gay rights within the teritory of The U S but also around the world, as well as coming out and other gay related topics. The owner of this blog has a very wicked sense of humor and seems to like using this quality of his as much as possibly can. It doesn` t hurt anyblody that they are such good writers and keep everything straight, simple and amusing. He also seems to have this attractive, huge supply of ideas and topics for new, fresh weblog articles or just new images that are so much fun to look at sometimes.

"Steve Charing Out spoken" is another very good example of a popular, informative gay weblog. This gay blog is mainly politics oriented, within the state of Maryland but also concerning national gay issues too. He speaks out loud for the gay community and LGBT community and believes that when it comes to gay rights, these are a major problem within modern society. His gay weblog is neither funny, nor sexual it is realistic because it deals with real facts, his wins and failures as he fights for gay rights. David Hyde Pierce, also called Niles Crane even has a weblog expressing his anger over California repelling the right of gay people to get married with the ones they love. He and his partner have been together for like 25 years now and they unfortunately had a short, two weeks gay marriage which was legal within the state . Pierce is still angry about the state removing Prop 8, and that`s normal. He speaks out but does not want to draw the attention of the press or anything like that. Hollywood celebs or the dog walker may have a gay weblog, also, without you knowing it. The Internet allows for secerty each time this is needed but also gives you a voice to speak up or speak out for you and your Gay/LGBT community without being afraid of anything. That is what many LGBT blogs do nowadays.

They may be for fun purposes only, but they are also a good method for the owners of the gay blog to express themselves and this holds true for many different types of blogs not just gay ones. Gay blogs are not what they are considered to be like, they are blogs designed for the gay people and their supporters, who can be straight or can belong to the LGBT community. Blogs generally speaking have not developed a sexual preference. LGBT blogs do not have to be exclusively about sex, they can be about any sort of matter that the author chooses to write articles about. Politics is a very popular issue due to the events that happened lately, but gay pubs within New York or Cleveland for that matter may be the main subject of a gay blog which is floating somewhere out there within this cyberspace. Go and visit a gay blog and then feel free to decide what you think but remember that there are thousands of gay blogs out there, and you can`t draw a conclusion only by visiting one of them, because some gay blogs out there are hysterically funny, others are on more serious topics. You decide!
