Samurai Sam is a free online ninja game that can be played by everyone. Just like other free online games, Samurai Sam is controlled by the keyboard input. The direction of the character is control by the up, down, left and right arrow button on the directional keypad. If the health bar becomes zero, you will lose. The health bar of the hero is represented in percentage. If you are hit by the enemy, the health bar will become depleted and be lesser and lesser. The lower the percentage, the weaker you are.

Every player has 5 lives by default. If you used up all 5 lives, you will die and the game is over. If the 5 lives are not used up, you will be return to the beginning of the level. If you manage to destroy an enemy, you will be rewarded with some score.

You should try to keep the energy bar at 100%. Each time you are hit by the enemy, the health bar will deplete and have a lower percentage. The game is violent and not suitable for children. When an enemy hit you, red blood will appear. If you hit the enemy, green blotches will appear on the screen. To defeat the enemy, you must keep on hitting him until he eventually dies. Dead enemies will automatically disappear.
