Some people think of weight loss as a mysterious process with strange diets, special exercises, but I don't think so. It's not mysterious at all. We should know what makes people fat. People eat a lot of food every day, and our body can't consume all this calories from food you eat. So people get fat day by day. Many people, who want to lose weight fast, even choose pills or medicines. But other successful people just make small changes day by day. Their continual small changes make them reach goals.

We should know about the basal metabolic rate if we want to lose weight successfully. The rate at which our body uses food/calories is called the basal metabolic rate (BMR). It is broadly equivalent to the number of calories a person would expend while lying down, inactive but awake. People who are fasting or dieting use fewer calories as do overweight people, whereas lean or muscular people tend to burn more calories.

If you calculate your BMR and your activity level, you can make a plan which you can easily achieve in scientific way. And also you should Keep track of how many calories you eat. Use a food journal to add up what you eat and drink during the day. If you're eating fewer calories than you're burning, you'll lose weight. Mary's BMR is 1400 calories and she burns 900 calories in daily activity. To maintain her weight, she should be eating 2300 calories but, after keeping a food journal, Mary finds that she is eating 2550 calories every day. By eating 250 more calories than her body needs, Mary will gain one pound every 2 weeks. This example shows how easy it is to gain weight without even knowing it.

Many advertisements told people that they could lose weigh incredibly fast and lose fifty pounds in a week. If you believe it, you are an idiot. Is it really possible to lose weight this fast? Lets take a look at the facts. A pound of body weight stores about 3,500 calories. To lose weight fast or slow you must reduce your calorie intake by that amount. On average a reduction of 1000 calories a day will bring a reduction of two pound a week.
