Help Me Lord Be a Provider
I am fearful and afraid
It seems what little I've made
I fear it will go
The next time my wife
Walks by a store
To buy something more
I deeply love her
But fear I'm incapable
To adequately provide for her
God, You say in your Word
"The Lord is my shephard
I shall not want."
But what about my wife?
It seems her wants are many
And my inability to provide plenty
Has got the best of me
What then shall I do
I have no hope beyond you
Even if I get a job
With a paycheck
Break my neck
I still feel like a wreck
Every time a new want arises
In which I feel unable to provide
Help Lord, my faith is beginning to slide
I could deny such in pride
Yet such would be a lie
As I inwardly worry and cry
My lovely wife is a beauty
Surely there are men out there
More able than me
To monetarily provide all that she needs
I will try my best
Yet my faith is daily put to the test
It seems in my heart
There is no rest
The Bible says you are
The God of abundance
Why than don't I see and experience it
I've often heard it
I've certainly preached and believed it
My wants and needs are few
I just want to be happy and serve you
Yet I too
Must lovingly serve and provide
As a Christian husband
If I get a job to merely make money
Than I others criticize me
Proclaim I've left the ministry
Yet the ministry seems to unable
To sustain me financially
Therefore like Paul the apostle
I will work occupationally
And simultaneously
Labor spiritually
Perhaps some disagree
But this seems best for me
Nevertheless I realize my inadequacy
I've spoken about this openly
So now Lord I ask You to help me.
