It's hard to believe that Doobie Brothers tickets have been available for more than 35 years. The band exudes everything that personifies true American rock and roll, and this legendary band has garnered a following of fans who are members of several generations. The Doobie Brothers are back for another set of live performances, and due to all the excitement that surrounds this announcement, we're going to take a look at how the band came to achieve legendary status in the annals of American music.

The true roots of the band date back to 1969, when aspiring singer and guitarist John Hartman moved to California with the hope of meeting Skip Spence of Jefferson Airplane fame. As it turned out, Spence wound up introducing Hartman to Tom Johnston, another local Northern California musician. Hartman and Johnston hit it off based on their common musical interests, and the two began to jam together.

After a few months of jamming, the duo added two more members to their group, and after existing for a time with the name "Pud," the band decided they needed a better moniker. As a result, they renamed themselves the Doobie Brothers in 1970, and a new band was born.

The band earned their stripes by playing relentlessly in clubs and pubs all over Northern California, and Doobie Brothers tickets soon became a hot item with one particular group - Hell's Angels. Although it wasn't necessarily a following that lent the band's style to the masses, this following was and remains intensely loyal. The band continued to play live gigs for about a year, and they eventually gained the notice of record executives.

Although the band's debut album, The Doobie Brothers, did not do well in sales, it did set the stage for their follow up effort in 1972, Toulouse Street. This was the album that made the band a household name, and set the stage for unmitigated live and album success.

Over time, the Doobie Brothers have released 16 non-compilation albums, and 11 of them climbed high on the charts. Their live shows remain their lifeblood, as the band has been known to veer off the musical charts and extemporaneously jam on a song for up to 30 minutes at a time. This is the style that they believe to be "true" rock and roll, and this is why Doobie Brothers tickets remain a hot item to this day.
