I was finding someone the other day...and I ended up finding out more about me. Why does life throw us these crazy curve balls when we least expect them?
I'll back up. I knew that I was going to be writing an article about finding someone so I had written down a few names of people from my old neighborhood, a friend from college, and a few names from my first job in New York.
It all started innocently enough.
Just names on a pad.
But when I started to put little notes next to those names, I started to remember things that I hadn't though of in YEARS! I suddenly found myself sitting there in my den, finding someone and finding my love for those people and the memories we shared.
How was I able to find these people? Did I pull out the old address book and start peeling apart pages that looked as if they were ready to disintegrate from overuse?
No.
I ended heading over the the best people finding search engine I have ever seen. And to use it, I only needed the name of that person and the state that I thought they might still be living in. (Although the search engine does have a function that allows you to choose "All 50 States" in case you do not remember or know where that person might be living.
After entering a small four digit code to prove that you are indeed a human, (let's hope), you are then told that the engine is about to retrieve for you those results and give them to you for FREE! These are the same results that other companies charge for...but not with this engine.
I ended up contacting all of those people through the people finder and ended up paying a whopping zero dollars for it. The laughter came in waves. The memories varied by who was doing the talking. And the things that we shared during those times were brought out of the boxes they had been packed in.
Yes, I was finding someone. The big question is who did I find...
