Overweight Kids!

Kids do not know any better, right? So, maybe we should teach them better. Kids are human too, therefore, very much like adults they are forming habits, hobbies, and daily routines in their lives. This includes eating habits, from what he or she eats to how much he or she eats. In other ways they are very different from adults, they virtually never consider health problems, unless, of course, they already suffer from a disease. In our society, our "normal" kids are not necessarily the healthy kids. As a matter of fact, often they are not.

The importance of children and exercise is (when forced too hard), however, dangerous as well. Kids who are overweight are at risk for diabetes, heart problems and more. Nonetheless, children forced too harshly in sports can develop injuries to their muscles and tendons from overuse. Health issues are a major concern without good a balance of nutritious food, physical activity, as well as periods of physical inactivity.

It is very important to encourage children to play outdoors or perhaps even participate in a sport - for the sake of his or her overall health. At the same time, you should not force your child, nor let him or her strain themselves too much in order to avoid the other (and absolutely opposite) risk: physical sports - related injuries due to overuse. But our focus is upon the former: American kids have been getting larger and larger in size for the past few decades, nonetheless the epidemic continues.

As opposed to before, at this time type 2 diabetes is actually being diagnosed in adolescents. It is being diagnosed in kids barely in their teens more and more. Keep in mind that this is a condition that was only a few short decades ago absolutely unheard of in any pre-adult diagnoses. The types of diabetes are classified as type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes is called "Juvenile Diabetes" for a reason. And now the line has been grayed and smeared between what used to be a black and white distinction. This means that it is not taking longer to develop type 2 diabetes. It means that kids are getting an extremely shocking head start - based on the medical statistics.
