Spy Cameras OK for Schools

Spy cameras are not just a thing of the imagination or fiction or the movies. These little devices are showing up every, from the bedroom to the classroom. It's bad enough that big brother seems to be watching at every turn. The real scary part is that most people don't even notice - or else they just don't care.

England has settled into a relationship with CCTV through out the cities. For years now, the government has been monitoring the comings and goings of street corners, subways, and other public areas. Other European countries are following suit.

It seems that as long as the spy cameras are keeping us safe, then where the cameras end up and what they film isn't that important. Now the cameras are lurking their way into the schools - all under the guise of monitoring activities just to keep the kids in line and out of danger.

In the past, the United States has struggled with the duel need to maintain safety and privacy. It seems even this haven is losing the battle against the spy camera. Schools are being monitored in areas that some parent's feel violate more than privacy.

When some schools put cameras in locker rooms and bathrooms, there were parents who cried foul. It wasn't loud, and it didn't stick. After all, this was all for the protection of the children.

Is it ever too much?

The more freedom that individuals turn over, the more freedom that seems to be required of them. In most circumstances, watching young girls dress would break all kinds of laws. When it's maintaining the safety of a school, it is okay.

This doesn't make sense to me.

Keep the spy cameras to yourself. I trust that a girl in her bra and panties isn't much of a security risk.
